On December 11th, 2000, in Richmond, Virginia, a young man named Donald Harris, known as Donnie to friends and family, was apparently having a normal evening. He left his home on Williamsburg Road at around eight-thirty p.m. and got into his car for the short drive to a local restaurant, where he was going to pick up his dinner.
Half an hour later, a call came in to the Richmond Police, and when officers arrived, they found the body of Donnie Harris in his car. He had been shot to death.
Witnesses later claimed to have seen two unknown individuals in the vehicle with the victim before he was found dead, and investigators surmised that Donnie had been abducted and murdered shortly after leaving his home. Authorities also informed the media that they believed these same two individuals might have been responsible for other similar crimes in the area, though further details about the crime were not released.
The homicide is still unsolved.
