Twenty-nine-year-old Lynne Trenholm lived in the town of Failsworth, in Greater Manchester. Though she had always told her family that she worked as a receptionist, she was actually a sex worker, using the pseudonyms Blondie and Marilyn, and plying her trade out of a brothel-slash-massage-parlor known as Pinky’s, in Boughton.
On the morning of Sunday, June 9th, 1991, the body of Lynne Trenholm was discovered in an upstairs room at her place of employment. She had been savagely stabbed to death.
The only clue found at the scene was a single, bloody fingerprint. This print is periodically run through the nationwide database, but so far has produced no matches. Police have also interviewed several hundred men who were known to frequent Pinky’s, but no suspects at all have been forthcoming, and the case has not been reexamined since 2013.
