On the afternoon of April 24th, 2002, sixty-nine-year-old father of five Terry Morgan picked up his wife Shirley from work, and the couple then returned to their home in Ennerdale, Coventry, England.
Just as Terry was getting out of his vehicle, however, a largely-built man ran up the driveway and shot Terry once in the chest, killing him instantly. The shooter then fled, jumping into a green getaway car driven by a second individual.
Though two arrests were made shortly after the crime, the suspects were eventually released, and to date, no other arrests have been made. The authorities’ working hypothesis is that Terry Morgan was executed by drug dealers; the area where Terry and his wife lived had become a hotbed for drugs, and Terry was apparently not shy about reporting suspicious activity to police. One individual in particular who Terry reported had recently been released from custody, and though it’s likely this individual had something to do with the murder, there is insufficient evidence to bring charges at this stage.
The case, then, remains unsolved, though the investigation is still open.
