Christina Wilson

Christina Wilson

It was between three and three-thirty a.m. on the morning of June 18th, 2002, and Christina Wilson, mother of a two-year-old son named Tyler and living with her parents Brian and Paula near Fort Myers, Florida, went into her bedroom to sleep. At some point soon after this, she mysteriously vanished from the house.

Her family reported her missing as soon as they noticed her uncharacteristic absence, but her fate remained unknown until five days later, when on June 23rd, someone out walking their dog at Hunter Park in Pine Manor found Christina’s body dumped near a playground. She had been raped and strangled. The location where the remains were found lay about eight minutes from her home.

Relatives were mystified as to how Christina got out of the house—either of her own volition or under duress—without anyone else in the residence hearing a thing. Even more baffling was who could have killed the unassuming woman so viciously, and why she was targeted specifically.

Both authorities and family members hope that a witness or witnesses saw something on the night Christina disappeared, and there is currently an $8,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible for the murder.
