Adre-Anna Jackson

Adre-Anna Jackson

It was December 2nd, 2005 in Lakewood, Washington, and ten-year-old Adre-Anna Jackson headed out on the three-block walk to school as usual. What neither she nor her mother knew, however, was that school had been cancelled that day because of snow. Had either of them been aware of this fact, it’s possible that tragedy could have been averted, but sadly, this was not to be. The little girl vanished at some point during her unnecessary trek.

Months later, in April of 2006, a set of skeletal remains was discovered by a group of children in an abandoned lot in Tillicum, approximately five miles from Lakewood. Dental records confirmed that the body belonged to Adre-Anna Jackson. Although the cause of death is either unknown or unreleased, authorities are treating the death as suspicious, and the FBI has become involved.

Investigators note that both the area from which Adre-Anna disappeared and the site where her body was eventually found were known for their high crime statistics and the presence of several sex offenders. For a time, it was speculated that Terapon Adhahn, a Thai man who, in 2008, was convicted of raping and murdering twelve-year-old Zina Linnik in Tacoma, Washington, may have been responsible for Adre-Anna’s death; police searched his home in 2007 looking for evidence, but no more information has since been revealed about this aspect of the investigation.

There is currently a reward of $60,000 for information leading to a conviction in the murder of the ten-year-old, but as of this writing, the death of Adre-Anna Jackson is unresolved.
