Thirty-one-year-old John Alquiros was walking in a rural area off the Greenhead Road extension of Highway 103 in Timberlea, Nova Scotia on April 19th, 2002. At some point, and for some unknown reason, an individual or individuals shot the young man dead, leaving him where he fell.
Three teenagers found John’s body at about eleven a.m., and authorities determined that the victim had sustained multiple bullet wounds. The area where he was shot was a popular spot for hikers and people driving all-terrain vehicles.
It seemed that police had few to no leads at all in the apparently random crime, and though there was a renewed push in the media in 2017 and a large reward offered for information, the bizarre shooting death of John Alquiros remains unsolved as of this writing.
