Glenn Ford

Thirty-five-year-old Glenn Ford lived in a flat in Hillfields, Coventry, England with his girlfriend and their two children. On November 22nd, 1993, Glenn left the residence for some unreported purpose and was never seen alive again.

The following day, he was found gunned down near an abandoned steel storage yard in Saltley, Birmingham. Police suspected he had been lured there by his killer or killers, at which point he had been shot several times at close range in the chest and head.

The investigation into his mysterious death dragged on for the ensuing year but ultimately went nowhere and was temporarily shelved.

In 2009, though, the inquiry was reopened, and in June of 2010, four men were arrested in connection with the shooting: fifty-two-year-old Gurmit Singh Birring, forty-one-year-old Martin Singh Mattu, forty-year-old Alex Neilson, and forty-four-year-old Conrad Jones.

Months later, however, in October, the charges against all four men were dropped, with the Crown Prosecution Service stating that new information had been discovered and that there was “no longer a realistic prospect of conviction.”

It does not appear that any further progress in the case has been made since then, and the execution-style murder of Glenn Ford therefore remains unresolved.
