Richard Humphreys

Fifty-one-year-old Richard Humphreys was a taxi driver who lived on Westview Avenue in Whyteleafe, Surrey, England, and had a fifteen-year-old daughter.

On February 3rd, 1990, friends and relatives became concerned when he didn’t return home as normal, and they reported his disappearance to police. Nine days later, on February 12th, his Ford Sierra was found in the long-stay parking lot of Terminal 4 at Heathrow Airport in London. The interior of the vehicle was smeared with blood.

Detectives believed it unlikely that Richard had vanished of his own accord, for he had renewed his contract with his employer on the same day he disappeared, and his passport and other belongings were still in his home.

Though Richard Humphreys’ body has never been found, authorities are treating his disappearance as a homicide. The case was re-examined in 2012 using more modern forensic techniques, but nothing significant was gleaned, and since then, there have been no further updates.
