Margaret Muller

Twenty-seven-year-old Margaret Muller was originally from Falls Church, Virginia, but in 2003 was living in Hackney, East London, England. She was an artist who had moved to the UK to study at the Slade School of Art, part of University College London.

On the morning of February 3rd, 2003, Margaret was jogging through Victoria Park when she was set upon by an unknown attacker. The assailant, who was suspected to have come into the park through the Queen’s Gate entrance, stabbed her to death and left her lying on the path. Police surmised that the murder may have been a robbery gone wrong.

Authorities worked diligently to solve the shocking crime, making at least seven arrests, but to date, no one has been formally charged in the case. A renewed plea for information was made in 2011, at which point a reward of £20,000 was offered, but as of May 2024, the brutal homicide remains unsolved.
