Billy Cox

Billy Cox

It was Valentine’s Day of 2007, and fifteen-year-old Billy Cox was last seen walking down a street near his home in Clapham, south London, England, accompanied by two unidentified males.

Later that afternoon, Billy’s thirteen-year-old sister Elizabeth came home from school and found her brother bleeding profusely from gunshot wounds. She called emergency services and cradled Billy in her arms, but he died before help arrived.

Because there was no sign of forced entry and Billy had been seen on CCTV walking with two young men on the afternoon of his murder, it was assumed that Billy knew his killer or killers.

Four months later, a twenty-year-old man was arrested in connection with the crime, but he was eventually released without charge.

The case stagnated until 2019, when police announced they had taken two men, aged twenty-six and thirty-one, into custody under suspicion of Billy Cox’s slaying. At this time, authorities also offered a £20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.

However, as of this writing in May of 2024, there have been no further updates in the investigation, and the shooting death of the teenage Billy Cox is still officially unsolved.
