Thirty-nine-year-old Bill Marney lived in a house on Mill Place in Crayford, London, England. Just before ten p.m. on the night of June 23rd, 2005, Bill was outside his house when suddenly, a car pulled close to him. Several shots rang out before the vehicle sped off.
Bill Marney was killed at the scene. Several parked cars in the area were also hit by gunfire.
Witnesses who had seen the car containing the perpetrators described them as two black men, and stated that the vehicle itself was a dark-colored hatchback, possibly a Peugeot or a Rover 45.
The registration number included N154 or M154, or maybe N145 or M145. Authorities asked for help from the public in identifying the car and determining who it belonged to.
Nearly twenty years later, the seemingly random shooting of Bill Marney is still unsolved, and both motive and assailant remain a mystery.
