Raymond Scott

Raymond Scott

Forty-seven-year-old Raymond Scott was a married father of four who worked as an odd jobs man in and around northwest London.

On November 16th, 2001, Raymond had driven his white Ford Transit van to his brother Kenny’s house in Wealdstone, where he was doing some DIY work. After he was finished, he drove off, and has never been seen nor heard from since.

Two weeks later, Raymond’s van was found abandoned. Police picked up a group of teenagers who had taken the vehicle for a joyride and left it where it was discovered; they said they had stolen the van from Field End Road in Eastcote, a claim that was verified by a traffic warden who remembered putting a parking ticket on the vehicle’s windshield at that location. The teenagers didn’t seem to have anything to do with Raymond Scott’s disappearance, however.

Several months after Raymond vanished, his other brother James received what he termed a “menacing” phone call that he’s certain is connected to the mystery. The call was placed at eight-forty-three a.m. on April 28th, 2002, and the man who made it was picked up on CCTV footage at South Harrow tube station. The video was broadcast on the Crimewatch TV program in April 2014.

Though Raymond Scott’s body has not been found, authorities are treating his disappearance as a murder investigation. There is a £20,000 for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for Raymond’s death.
