Geoffrey Windsor

Fifty-seven-year-old Geoffrey Windsor lived in South Norwood Hill in southeast London. Family members described him as intelligent and musically talented, as well as being a “railway buff.”

At nearly two in the morning on June 26th, 2002, a passerby discovered Geoffrey’s lifeless body in Beaulieu Heights Park in South Norwood. He had been beaten to death with a car aerial, which was found snapped in half at the scene.

Because the park was a known “cruising” area, authorities hypothesized that the murder may have been a homophobic attack.

The only other clue recovered from the area was a distinctive 14-carat white and yellow gold ring embedded with large diamonds. The ring possibly belonged to the killer, and police released photos of it to the public in the hopes that someone would recognize it.

A £20,000 reward is on offer for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals who murdered Geoffrey Windsor, but as of July 2024, the crime remains unsolved.
