Omar Watson

Twenty-four-year-old Omar Watson was a father of one, and his wife Chantel was seven months pregnant with their second son. They lived in Top Valley, Nottingham, England.

In August of 2003, Omar was shot by an unknown assailant but survived the attack. Months later, though, in autumn of the same year, he wouldn’t be so lucky.

It was one o’clock on the afternoon of November 7th, and Omar was at Nefertiti’s Secret Hair Salon, located on Peveril Street in Radford. Suddenly, a gunman entered the establishment, shot Omar once in the head, then fled the scene.

It’s believed that a black wig with red highlights that had been on a mannequin in the window was either taken by the perpetrator or became caught in his clothing as he ran out of the shop. Authorities released details about the wig to the public in the hopes that someone would recognize it.

Investigators were also hoping to track down a sixteen- or seventeen-year-old girl who had come into the shop and then left shortly before the shooting; they feel she may have seen the killer.

There is currently a £10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who murdered Omar Watson, but as of July 2024, the crime is still unsolved.
