Twenty-five-year-old Patricia Grainger lived in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. She had a son named Danny, and suffered from learning disabilities that may have made her too trusting of strangers, according to family members.
On August 10th, 1997, Patricia’s partially nude body was found dumped under an abandoned bed frame near a brook not far from her residence on Buchanan Road. She had been raped and had died from multiple stab wounds.
The investigation grew cold very quickly, and no arrests were ever made. Patricia’s son Danny has been dogged in his pursuit of answers over the years, maintaining a website and a Facebook page devoted to discovering who killed his mother.
As of August 2024, however, the murder is still unsolved.
