Steven Brown

Thirty-five-year-old father of three Steven Brown lived in Tranent, East Lothian, Scotland. Shortly before midnight on February 20th, 1999, several witnesses around Kerr Road described some kind of disturbance, akin to a large number of people arguing and scuffling.

The following day, the lifeless body of Steven Brown was discovered lying in a field near Elphinstone. He had been beaten and stabbed to death.

Authorities theorized that there had been some sort of confrontation involving several men and women the night before, during which Steven was killed by a person or persons unknown.

The investigation hit a wall not long after it began, and years later, in 2013, police made another plea for information in the media. Crimestoppers also offered a £5,000 reward at that time.

However, as of this writing in August 2024, the killer or killers of Steven Brown have yet to be identified.
