Yana Jones

Twenty-eight-year-old Yana Jones lived in a flat on Rutley Close in Walworth, south London. On January 16th, 1988, she was found dead inside her residence.

She had been stabbed three times in the face and neck. Police noted that there were no defensive wounds on her hands, and no sign of forced entry, leading them to assume that Yana had likely known her killer and had let them in.

It appeared that £300 had also been stolen from the flat, though it’s unclear if robbery was the overriding motive.

Authorities did their due diligence and interviewed friends and neighbors, but later reported that the individuals they questioned seemed unwilling to help them in their investigation, whether because they distrusted the police, were perhaps protecting the perpetrator, or were simply afraid to speak out or get involved.

As of September 2024, the murder of Yana Jones is still unsolved.
