Thomas “Tommy” Baker

Forty-four-year-old father of two Thomas Baker had gone to the Phoenix Gym in the Stanley Meat Market complex in Liverpool, England, early on the morning of January 27th, 2017. After his workout, he left the facility shortly after eight a.m.

As he was returning to his car, a black BMW, he was suddenly shot in the head and chest by a perpetrator who had possibly been driving a silver Volkswagen Polo. He was killed instantly. Authorities suspected the shooter had parked his car next to Thomas’s and was lying in wait for him.

Thomas Baker was known to police, and investigators came to the conclusion that his murder was a targeted hit. Baker had been cleared of involvement in a prior £4 million heroin plot.

Five individuals were picked up and questioned in connection with the crime, but all were released without charge.

Merseyside Police asked anyone with information about the shooting, or about the silver Volkswagen that was seen turning right on Prescot Road toward Liverpool city center shortly after the murder, to contact them and help get Thomas Baker’s killer off the streets.
