Nigel Price

Fifty-eight-year-old Nigel Price, described as “kind-hearted” by his family, lived in Southampton, England.

On the evening of Friday, November 13th, 2010, Nigel was having a drink at the Cowherds pub. At around eight-forty-five p.m., it was believed that he was involved in some type of argument or altercation; he was seen alive by witnesses on Southampton Common about forty-five minutes later.

However, the following morning, passersby found him, half-dressed and barely conscious, in some bushes on the Common. He had been severely beaten in the head.

He was taken to Southampton General Hospital, where he languished in a semi-coma for months before tragically succumbing to his injuries in late March of 2011.

Authorities were keen to track down two individuals spotted running toward the reservoir on the Common’s eastern side shortly after the incident. Both men were white and in their early thirties. One was around six feet tall with a thin but muscular build and short, blondish hair, while the other was shorter and had darker hair. Both individuals wore dark jeans and dark jackets.

Though the motive for the assault was not clear, police speculated that it may have been a homophobic attack, though they are keeping other options open.

There is a £10,000 reward on offer for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Nigel Price’s killers, but as of this writing in November 2024, the crime is still unsolved.
