Marjorie Roberts

Thirty-five-year-old mother of three Marjorie Roberts made her living as a sex worker in Glasgow, Scotland. On August 1st, 1995, she was found dead in the River Clyde near Jamaica Bridge.

There was no sign of violence on her body, so authorities were uncertain as to whether she had accidentally fallen or been pushed into the water. However, only a few weeks later, a man tried to push another sex worker into the same river; he escaped in a taxi, and the victim declined to press charges.

Marjorie was last seen alive on CCTV footage, talking to an unidentified man on the Broomielaw, a street along the Clyde, not far from where her remains would eventually be discovered.

Several other sex workers were murdered in Glasgow around the same time period, and some investigators suspected a serial killer might be responsible. As of November of 2024, though, the possible slaying of Marjorie Roberts is still unresolved.
