Paul Chadeyron

Thirty-six-year-old Paul Chadeyron was a solicitor who worked from an office on Brixton Road in Stockwell, south London, England. He was also a lay preacher at St. Marks Church near his home on Hackford Road.

At around ten-thirty p.m. on the night of June 29th, 1986, Paul was returning home from the church when he was set upon by one or more unidentified individuals as he walked up to the front of his building. The perpetrators reportedly kicked him in the groin before stabbing him twice in the heart with a seven-inch knife. The victim died at the scene, and his body was discovered by neighbors shortly afterward.

Police surmised that Paul had been attacked by muggers who became enraged when their target didn’t have any money; there didn’t seem to be any other obvious motive for the senseless crime.

Nearly four decades have passed since the slaying of Paul Chadeyron, and authorities seem no closer to bringing his killers to justice.
