Kenisha Dixon moved into a new apartment in Houston, Texas sometime around March of 2000, and though she didn’t have a boyfriend, she lived with a male roommate. Sadly, not much is known about her life leading up to the tragic event of her murder, but there is reason to believe she thought her life might be in danger.
At ten minutes past eleven a.m. on May 9th, 2000, someone knocked on the door of Kenisha’s apartment; she was thought to be home alone at the time. Clearly fearful, she picked up a gun belonging to her roommate and went to answer the door.
Her instincts had been one hundred percent correct, but unfortunately, neither her instincts nor her firearm saved her life. The person who stood on her doorstep simply shot and killed her the moment she opened the door. The gun she’d been holding was found on the floor next to her body.
Police were called, but authorities either don’t know or won’t reveal who it was who summoned them. They have also never disclosed if anyone else was in the house at the time of the murder.
Investigators claimed to have obtained valuable information from questioning the neighbors who lived in the same apartment complex, but despite this, no persons of interest have ever been named, and no arrests have been made.
The case has since gone cold, and there have been no updates for many years.
