
On March 14th, 2000, the remains of Penny J. Tyler were found in a wooded area off Corliss Road in DeSoto, Kansas. After the discovery of the young woman’s body, a patrolman in Kansas City, Missouri reported seeing the victim at a bus stop at the corner of Independence Avenue and Woodland Street sometime before her disappearance.
An autopsy determined that Penny had been murdered, but the specific cause of death was not divulged to the public.
There are few details in the case, but the investigation remains open.
