Ruth K. Davison

Ninety-year-old Ruth K. Davison was a grandmotherly figure in Bremerton, Washington, reportedly nice to everyone and often spotted in Lions Field Park, feeding the birds. She lived in the Illahee Shores Mobile Home Park in Central Kitsap.

On June 16th, 2000, the beloved elderly woman was found murdered in the bathtub of her residence. She had been beaten and strangled, and there were clear signs of a struggle inside the blood-spattered home.

The case stagnated for nearly three years, but in February of 2003, a thirty-six-year-old former neighbor of Ruth’s was arrested for the crime. According to law enforcement, he had “all but confessed” to the crime and was incarcerated for a year and a half while the investigation progressed.

However, the case against the suspect collapsed in 2004, and prosecutors dropped the charges against him. Since then, there have been no significant leads and no appreciable progress, and the brutal slaying of Ruth Davison is still unsolved.
