On April 19th, 2000, a retired doctor was out hunting for snakes near the main entrance to Florida Sports Park in Naples, Florida. About fifty feet west of the road, in a wooded area, the doctor stumbled upon a set of skeletal remains.
Through dental records, the victim was identified as seventy-year-old Charles Cantrell Wright, a retired man who had lived on Brantley Boulevard, approximately eleven miles from where his body was found.
Though his death was ruled a homicide, the manner of his murder was not divulged to the public. Authorities are still accepting tips, but the case has long gone cold.
