Leo Spiegler

Leo Spiegler was seventy-seven years old and lived with his wife in a house on Goldhill Way in Las Vegas, Nevada. On Friday, July 21st, 2000, Leo’s wife had been out most of the day and was waiting for her husband to come pick her up. He never arrived.

Meanwhile, at around four in the afternoon, a neighbor of the Spieglers noticed that the front door to their residence was open. He tried to call Leo from outside but got no answer. The neighbor then phoned the police. When officers responded, they discovered Leo lying face down in the master bedroom, the victim of strangulation and blunt force trauma.

The house had been ransacked, but it wasn’t clear if anything had been stolen. Authorities surmised that the attack had taken place sometime after eleven-thirty a.m., when Leo had spoken to a friend on the phone, and one-thirty p.m., when another friend attempted to contact Leo but got no response.

As of this writing in March of 2025, there are no leads and no suspects.
