Shortly before eleven-thirty p.m. on November 30th, 2000, Elbert Bibbs left his apartment in Las Vegas, Nevada to drive to his job as a security officer. Tragically, he never made it out of the parking lot.
Several residents of the Rancho Mesa apartment complex on North Rancho Drive called police to report an incident, and when officers arrived, they found Elbert slumped behind the wheel of his car.
Emergency services arrived in short order, but it was too late to save him. Elbert had clearly been murdered, though authorities did not publicize his cause of death. It was believed that an unknown assailant approached Elbert’s vehicle and killed him before quickly fleeing the scene.
Several witnesses were interviewed, but none could provide any insight into what the possible motive could have been, and the identity of the murderer is still a mystery.
