John Marzetti

Forty-five-year-old father of two John Marzetti worked as a second-hand car dealer and lived in New Addington, Croydon, England. At about six-fifteen p.m. on October 11th, 2001, John was in a parking lot near his home, changing a tire on his BMW, when an unidentified man approached and shot him several times, killing him instantly.

The suspect was described as a black man wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants, and a puffa jacket. Authorities believe the perpetrator had been lying in wait for John for some time before the shooting, though they have never disclosed a possible motive.

Because the crime occurred around dinnertime, when people were coming home from work and many children were outside playing, police surmised that the killer didn’t particularly care whether he hit innocent people during the commission of the murder. This cold-bloodedness, they hoped, would help lead them to identify the person responsible.

However, this hope has proven fruitless, for the slaying remains unsolved nearly twenty-five years later.
