Phillip Saville

Phillip Saville was a forty-year-old father of two, and worked as the director of a soil investigation drilling company in London, England. In the early morning hours of August 2nd, 2001, he was attending a party for a colleague who was leaving the firm; the event took place at an establishment on Wardour Street in London.

According to witnesses, a fight broke out between Phillip and possibly six other men outside in the street; it’s believed that Phillip may have hit one of the men in the head with a bottle. At some point during the melee, Phillip was knocked to the pavement and fractured his skull.

The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital and eventually transferred to a private hospital in St. Johns Wood. However, Phillip succumbed to his injuries on August 18th, sixteen days after the attack.

In January of 2003, a twenty-seven-year-old Latvian man by the name of Grigorijs Zamerzlaks was arrested in connection with the crime, and was due to stand trial the following March. But before he could face a judge, the Crown Prosecution Service determined there was insufficient evidence to try him, and the case was dismissed. Another man who had been arrested at the same time was released without charge.

Since then, there have been no further updates on the investigation into Phillip Saville’s murder.
