Joyce Large

Eighty-eight-year-old Joyce Large lived on Minerva Way in Cambridge, England. On September 13th, 2001, she was in King’s Hedges when a man reportedly threatened her. She returned to her residence shortly afterward.

Two hours later, an unidentified individual broke into her home and demanded money. It isn’t clear if it was the same man who had accosted her in King’s Hedges earlier. There was likely a struggle, as Joyce collapsed and the intruder fled with the cash.

Sadly, Joyce did not survive the ordeal. A post-mortem revealed that the elderly woman had died of a heart attack, but she also had a serious head injury, though it was never determined exactly what caused it.

Authorities considered the death a homicide and began an investigation, but despite their efforts, the crime was never solved.
