George Lynch

Thirty-six-year-old father of six George Lynch lived in Longsight, Manchester, England. On Halloween of 2001, he was in the passenger seat of a silver BMW driven by a female friend. The two of them had just dropped off George’s thirteen-year-old son at a friend’s house on Carmoor Road and were heading back home.

Suddenly, a tall, slim gunman approached the vehicle and opened fire, killing George outright. The driver of the car subsequently smashed into a tree, but was largely unhurt.

Police were uncertain as to the motive of the shooting, but speculated that it may have been related to something George Lynch had done earlier that day. What exactly he might have done has never been made clear.

A man and woman from Marple were arrested shortly after the murder, but were released on November 8th. Since that time, there have been no further developments in the case.
