On August 22nd, 1979, twenty-two-year-old Dora Ferguson of Island View, New Brunswick, Canada, was last seen walking along the Trans-Canada Highway. After that point, she completely vanished.
Her disappearance remained a mystery for nearly seventeen years. Then, on April 21st, 1996, a man walking along the Valley Trail near Fredericton discovered skeletal remains in a garbage bag. These remains were later identified as Dora Ferguson’s, and it was determined that she had been murdered.
More than forty years later, the crime remains unsolved. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) continues to seek information that could lead to the identification of Dora Ferguson’s killer.
