Thirty-five-year-old Stephen Primrose worked as a debt collector and lived in a house on Chester Road in Cheshire, England with his common-law wife Julie O’Connell, and their baby son Shaun.
In January 1996, someone entered the family home and beat Stephen in the head multiple times with a blunt object. The motive for the attack was not clear. Julie O’Connell found him unconscious and bleeding when she came home. Baby Shaun was unharmed only a few feet away.
Stephen was rushed to Countess of Chester Hospital, where he lapsed into a coma from which he never awoke. He died on July 26th, 1996, seven months after the assault.
Authorities have admitted that they have no suspects in the seemingly random and vicious crime and no idea what the possible reason for it might have been. The mystery is still unsolved as of August 2024.
