Pablo Perez-Angeles was born on June 26th, 1958. By January 2014, he was fifty-five years old and living in Hillsboro, a city in Washington County, approximately twenty miles west of Portland.
Hillsboro is one of the largest cities in Oregon, known for its mixture of established residential neighborhoods, agricultural history, and growing technology industry. Pablo lived in a residence in the 1100 block of Southeast Alder Street.
The publicly available details of his personal history are limited. News coverage published in 2016 identified him as a grandfather, although the number of his children and grandchildren, his occupation, and other biographical information have not been established in accessible reporting.
According to a May 2025 report by Portland television station KOIN, the incident came to light on January 16th, 2014. That day, a woman returned to the Hillsboro residence she shared with Pablo and discovered him unconscious. He had suffered a severe beating.
The woman was identified in the report as his roommate. Her name was not disclosed, nor did the report establish precisely when she found him, how long he may have been injured before the discovery, or whether anyone had seen him shortly beforehand.
Pablo was transported to a hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite efforts to save him, he died from his injuries.
The Hillsboro Police Department assumed responsibility for investigating Pablo’s death. Authorities have not released a detailed reconstruction of the crime scene. There is no reliable public account describing whether the home showed signs of forced entry, whether anything was stolen, or whether investigators recovered a weapon.
Likewise, the available reports do not establish whether Pablo was attacked by one individual or multiple people. The precise nature of his injuries has also not been described beyond the severe beating reported by KOIN.
As the initial investigation progressed, the case remained unsolved. Eventually, the months turned into years. In August 2016, approximately two and a half years after Pablo’s death, the Hillsboro Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Oregon renewed their appeal for assistance. A report published by Hillsboro Patch on August 16th, 2016, described the unsolved killing and highlighted the reward available for information that could identify the perpetrator.
In May 2025, Pablo’s murder received renewed attention through a segment on KOIN’s True Crime Tuesday. The segment, published May 13th, featured the case in connection with the true-crime podcast Murder in the Rain.
More than eleven years had passed since the attack, but investigators were still trying to identify his killer. The renewed coverage offered an opportunity to bring Pablo’s name before an audience that might never have heard of his murder.
Despite the recent attention, however, no arrest or prosecution connected to Pablo’s killing has been identified in the publicly available reporting as of October 2026.
