Kevin Sherrond Carr

Twenty-four-year-old Kevin Sherrond Carr Jr. was a young father with a fiancée, Leanda Carr, and an infant son who was just nine months old. On September 10th, 2014, he disappeared from Toledo, Ohio. For more than two months, Kevin’s whereabouts remained unknown.

Then, on November 15th, 2014, a farmer discovered human remains buried in a shallow grave in a cornfield in western Lucas County, near Swanton, Ohio, a rural area about fifteen miles southwest of Toledo.

The remains were subsequently identified by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office as those of Kevin Carr. The coroner determined that Kevin’s cause of death was strangulation.

Although authorities established that his death was a homicide, the precise date of his murder remains unknown. The Ohio Attorney General’s Office lists the approximate incident period as September 10th through November 15th, 2014, the time between his disappearance and the discovery of his remains.

The fact that Kevin’s body had been buried raised additional questions. Had he been killed near the cornfield, or had his body been transported there after his death? How long had his remains been at that location? And who had access to the area? Publicly available investigative records do not establish answers to those questions.

By September 2016, the investigation had been transferred from the Toledo Police Department to the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office. At that time, the family reported that investigators had no new leads.

No publicly verified evidence establishes a motive, identifies a suspect, or explains the events immediately preceding Kevin’s death.

As of October 2026, more than twelve years have passed since Kevin Carr disappeared, and his murder remains unsolved at this writing.
